Health care you can see and protection you can trust

Health protection for a lifetime of companionship

Bringing home a puppy should be filled with excitement, not uncertainty.

Every Perfect Pedigree puppy completes an extensive veterinary examination, laboratory testing and preventive-health programme before joining their new family.

Our Limited Lifetime Health Guarantee provides additional protection in the unlikely event that a serious congenital or hereditary condition is later diagnosed.

Before your puppy comes home

Far more than a basic health check

A puppy can appear healthy while an ordinary visual examination misses an underlying infection, parasite or other concern.

That is why every Perfect Pedigree puppy visits a qualified, registered veterinarian at least twice before delivery and completes our full veterinary protocol.

This programme represents a substantial investment in every puppy. It gives our customers documented evidence of their puppy’s health and helps us identify concerns before the puppy joins their family.

Every puppy receives

A comprehensive physical examination

Our veterinarian assesses the puppy’s overall health and physical development, including their eyes, ears, mouth, skin, coat, heart, lungs, abdomen, limbs, joints and movement.

Complete blood testing

Every puppy receives:

  • a complete blood count;
  • blood biochemistry testing; and
  • blood-parasite testing.

These tests provide important information that cannot be obtained through a visual examination alone.

Parvovirus antigen testing

Every puppy receives a canine parvovirus antigen test before delivery.

Faecal microscopy

A faecal sample is examined microscopically for:

  • protozoa;
  • internal parasites;
  • worm eggs; and
  • abnormal bacterial activity.

Age-appropriate vaccination

Every puppy receives the vaccinations appropriate to their age.

The vaccinations administered and the date of the next required vaccination or booster are recorded in the puppy’s vaccination booklet.

Vet-selected parasite protection

Every puppy receives appropriate internal and external parasite treatment before delivery.

Our veterinarian selects the most suitable treatment or combination of treatments according to the puppy’s age, weight, health and individual needs.

This provides appropriate protection against intestinal worms, fleas, ticks and other relevant parasite risks.

ISO-compliant microchip

Every puppy is implanted with an ISO-compliant 15-digit animal-identification microchip.

The microchip permanently connects the puppy with their identification and veterinary documentation.

Evidence in your hands

Complete records you can review

When your puppy joins your family, you receive their original health and identification records, including:

  • signed veterinary health certificate and health report;
  • vaccination booklet;
  • blood-test and laboratory results;
  • microchip certificate; and
  • pet passport.

You do not simply have to take our word for your puppy’s health. You receive the veterinary and laboratory documentation supporting the examinations and tests that were completed.

Two layers of reassurance

Protection before and after delivery

Our veterinary programme is designed to identify health concerns before your puppy comes home.

However, even a comprehensive examination and laboratory testing cannot identify every congenital, hereditary or developmental condition that may become apparent later.

That is why every puppy is also protected by the Perfect Pedigree Limited Lifetime Health Guarantee.

The Limited Lifetime Health Guarantee

A promise that matters when it matters most

Most puppies grow into happy, healthy adult dogs without ever needing the guarantee.

In the unlikely event that something serious does arise, the guarantee provides protection in four principal areas.

Serious congenital conditions

Protection where a severe condition present from birth materially and permanently affects the dog’s health or quality of life.

Serious hereditary conditions

Protection where reliable veterinary evidence confirms a severe inherited condition affecting the dog’s ability to live a normal life.

Severe orthopaedic conditions

Defined protection against severe hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and patellar luxation during the applicable coverage period.

Fatal parvovirus and canine distemper

Additional protection where the first symptoms of confirmed parvovirus or canine distemper appear within seven days of delivery and the illness results in death or veterinary-recommended euthanasia.

Ready from delivery

No additional examination is required to activate your guarantee

Your puppy has already completed Perfect Pedigree’s comprehensive veterinary examination and testing programme before delivery.

We encourage you to establish a relationship with your own veterinarian as part of your puppy’s ongoing care, but you do not have to arrange another examination within a fixed period to activate or preserve the guarantee.

We are here to guide you

If a serious concern arises

We hope you will never need to make a claim. If a potentially serious condition is diagnosed, contact us promptly so we can guide you through the review process.

  1. 1

    Contact us

    Tell us what has happened and provide your puppy’s name, microchip number and treating clinic.

  2. 2

    Share the veterinary evidence

    We will ask for the relevant diagnosis, clinical records and diagnostic evidence.

  3. 3

    Careful review

    The evidence will be reviewed carefully, with independent veterinary or specialist input where necessary.

    Genuine claims are assessed individually using reliable veterinary evidence and the full guarantee terms.

Meaningful long-term protection

Clear and responsible protection

The guarantee is intended for serious, lasting health conditions.

It is not a veterinary insurance policy and does not cover ordinary illnesses, minor health concerns or treatment expenses.

These clear boundaries allow us to provide meaningful long-term protection while continuing to invest in extensive veterinary examinations, laboratory testing and preventive care for every puppy.

Helpful answers

Questions about your puppy’s protection

Protection for qualifying serious congenital and hereditary conditions continues for the natural life of the dog.

Severe hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and patellar luxation have a separate coverage period ending on the dog’s fourth birthday.
